As a single mother, physician turned entrepreneur, and type A overachiever I, like most of us, spent the day checking off the list, constantly moving from task to goal while increasing my personal stress. I could feel my heart rate increase as I drove to work. I was short tempered with family and coworkers, not sleeping, and I started to feel overwhelmed and anxious. Meditation helped me get grounded and be present in NOW.

Lavender calms the nervous system by decreasing circulating levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Lavender also has been shown to increase alpha and theta brain waves in EEG studies. These slower, high amplitude brain waves correspond to periods of deep relaxation and strong internal focus.

How to use our Meditation collection:
Making time to meditate daily, even two minutes a day, is beneficial. Find a quiet place, where interruptions are unlikely.
Flip the reeds over in your SLEEP diffuser allowing the lavender and bergamot essential oils diffuse in the air around you.
Light your CALM candle, allowing the candlelight and serene scent create a peaceful reality. Find a comfortable place to sit.
Apply your RELEASE rollerball to your inner wrists, along the side of your neck and in your palms. Rub your hands together, bring your palms in front of your face, close your eyes, inhale deeply and exhale completely.
Allow your hands to rest gently on your lap and turn your attention to your breath. Inhale for a slow count of three, hold your breath for a count of three and exhale for a count of three. Continue to consciously breathe, feel the cool air enter through your nose, expand your chest and allow the warm air to leave your body. Thoughts will come and go, like a cloud floating by acknowledge them, and let them go. Return your attention to your breath, and find peace in the moment
